Hi there! My name is Lance McGrath and I am a candidate for Nampa City Council seat 2. I am a native Idahoan and a long-time Nampan. In fact, I have been a resident of Nampa for 20 years. I am married to a wonderful woman, Marie. We have three great kids - two boys and a little girl. My wife, Marie, and I are both educators. Marie is an administrator at Idaho Arts Charter School. I am a librarian at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa. I also serve as a commissioner on the Nampa Planning and Zoning Commission (I am the vice chair for 2011). I have been involved in making Nampa a better place to live for many years.
I decided to run for Nampa City Council in order to make a difference in my community. I have not seen much positive effect from the incumbent and his 16 years (yes, 16 years!!) in office. So I threw my hat in the ring so the good people of Nampa would have a choice. A good choice. And that's me. Lance. My slogan is "Nampa Forward!" because if we aren't moving forward we are either going backward or we are stuck in a rut. And we need to get moving...forward!
